The joy of Gideon’s success was stollen by Ephraim’s pride. Ephraim attacked Jeptha and lost 42 thousand men. Finally, in Isaiah 7, God announces final judgement on Ephraim because they schemed against the House of David(The Messianic Line). In all of this, God actively reached out. One such time, He interwove a Messianic message.

The conductor of an orchestra commands musicians who flawlessly play instruments of the highest quality.  The Conductor and Orchestra rehearse untold hours to achieve a quality performance.  Yet, such music reaches a limited audience, for orchestra music is not for everyone.

Jesus is the Greek version of our Lord’s name. In Hebrew, it is pronounced Jeshua.

Jeshua’s message for salvation is two part; repent and believe. Both are the combination to unlock salvation. They are also two related words in Hebrew.

Discovering something new in God’s word is always exhilarating. It occurred to me the other day as I was reading the Gospels that the life of Christ is bookended with two Josephs: His earthly father Joseph and Joseph of Arimathea.
