"Critical thinking" is like blinders. The wearer only sees the subjective viewpoint that he has been taught. It is a popular form of arrogance to ignore all that doesn't conform. Truth is objective. Humility is a wisdom which enables objectivity.
Proverbs 29:23 A man's pride shall bring him low: but honour shall uphold the humble inspirit.
Matthew 18:4 Whosoever therefore shall humble himself as this little child, the same is greatest in the kingdom of heaven.

Through repentance we come into step with Christ. It is the death to self that he taught, not just in Word, but in the agony of the garden. His death on cross was the ultimate expression of that selflessness.
Mt 4:17 From that time Jesus began to preach, and to say, Repent: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.
Mr 8:35 For whosoever will save his life shall lose it; but whosoever shall lose his life for my sake and the gospel’s, the same shall save it.
In this, He commands us to, “take up thy cross and follow me”.

There is a great difference between Religion and Faith in Christ. “Religion” is ever striving to control, whereas faith in Christ is that which frees us from those very controls through a relationship with our Creator by Jesus the Savour. Live close to Him and live free.
Ro 8:2 For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death.

The line, “it is ok to look, so long as you don’t touch”, is a noose disguised as a loophole. It was typically used by men, but “now-a-days” women have jumped on the band wagon as well. The final destination is far from a God honoring moral marriage. It often ends in a destructive and unstable performance-based relationship.

I surmise that many young ladies find themselves in abusive relationships due to their father failing to teach them their great value and lovingly building in them confidence of their own competence.
Abusive men find weakness attractive as it offers no challenge.
