A witness for Christ will have the proverbial door shut in their face.  This can be a friendship that grows cold or a family member that chides for “always talking about God”.  It can also be in the form of alienization from social groups and celebrations.  Job advancements can be affected and even terminated by simply representing Christ openly.  This reality has been documented throughout history and demonstrated in the present. 

You can kneel to pray openly and be fined, threatened and lose your standing.  Then on the other hand the same physical action, if it goes against traditional values of honor, duty and life is lauded by the unbelieving.  See the contrast between two football players: Tim Tebow vs Colin Kaepernick. 

It can also be a real physical door slammed in your face.  An unnerving event, at best, but one in which the testifier can feel, for a moment, a minute fraction of the rejection that Christ feels continually.  Don’t let such an event rattle you to feel sorry for yourself or create spite in your heart for the door-slammer. 

Allow the moment to teach you and strengthen your resolve to witness, your fervor to pray for the lost, your commitment to the Gospel, your love and understanding of Christ in His sufferings; from the cross to this very moment of rejection.  Understand, you just bore the shame of the cross!  Your witness turned up the volume of Christ knocking on this person‘s door.  This moment will forever be engraved in the mind of the door-slammer. For all eternity that individual will be reminded that they rejected Christ on that occasion!

The probability of another visitation lies in the Master’s hand.  The witness is a magnifier of the knocking of Christ which ends with the beating of the human heart.  Every pulse is Christ, the spoken creative WORD OF GOD by whom all things consist.  When the final breath is taken, that individual will either be taken by grace through repentive faith into the Arms of He who is Love or left in the living death which rejection of the Savior, who is life, has rebelliously created.

Christ said, “Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.”Re 3:20  Christ wants us to know Him.  It is about a personal faith and trust relationship with LIFE (Jesus Christ the LORD - God)

The contra of or result of rejecting Christ’s knocking is summed up in this prophetic promise, “And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.” Mt 7:23

They did not reject you.  They rejected the Creator, Sustainer and Savior of life.  That is not on you!  It is all on them.  Get over it!  Now, continue!!!  Carry that cross.  Be a student of Christ and a megaphone of His knocking!
