"Critical thinking" is like blinders. The wearer only sees the subjective viewpoint that he has been taught. It is a popular form of arrogance to ignore all that doesn't conform. Truth is objective. Humility is a wisdom which enables objectivity.
Proverbs 29:23 A man's pride shall bring him low: but honour shall uphold the humble inspirit.
Matthew 18:4 Whosoever therefore shall humble himself as this little child, the same is greatest in the kingdom of heaven.

I started my morning praying that God would use me today. I then sent a text to a friend who has grown to trust my relationship with God enough to ask for prayer for his father. Since I was going on hospital visitation, I thought, I could visit his father while I was there. He later called and stated that his reason for asking me was because I had prayed for him once and it had really helped the surgery and healing. It is so great to be used by the Lord to call people to faith!

A year ago while on a train a man asked me who was treating my rosacea and gave me a prescription for some medicine. This was like a spiritual rubber stamp to the person to whom I was witnessing. They were just simply amazed how God orchestrated it all. The medicine cleared up the issue and became an even more powerful witness to God’s power. Just this last week, I received a call from that doctor who wrote me the prescription. He was doing follow-up on me as he is publishing his research regarding a better treatment for the condition. I excitedly told him how it not only cleared up the problem, but also how God had used him. He stated, “now that is an interesting interpretation of the events”. He thanked me for my help and hoped that his call was not an inconvenience. I assured him it was not and that his calls were more than welcome. God used one event to witness to two people who I would have never met, except that I had rosacea.

The line, “it is ok to look, so long as you don’t touch”, is a noose disguised as a loophole. It was typically used by men, but “now-a-days” women have jumped on the band wagon as well. The final destination is far from a God honoring moral marriage. It often ends in a destructive and unstable performance-based relationship.

The message of I Thessalonians 4 could be stated in one sentence: Live holy for me, love the brethren, work honestly because I am coming for you.
“1 Furthermore then we beseech you, brethren, and exhort you by the Lord Jesus, that as ye have received of us how ye ought to walk and to please God, so ye would abound more and more” (Super Abound). Paul was passionately desirous that they live to please God in order to super abound in life. He even gave them clear commandments in obtaining that abounding life.

For bodily exercise profiteth little: but godliness is profitable unto all things, having promise of the life that now is, and of that which is to come. 1Ti 4:8
Today, was the first day back to the gym in some time. It was great to see the familiar faces and make new acquaintances. As our workout time drew to a close, I had the opportunity to share Christ with the four people in the room. The discussion was animated, positive and just fun. They ask several questions and in the end one of the ladies ask where our church was located.
I love sharing Christ! This workout was profitable!

As a child, one of my favorite games, while walking with my father, was trying to get in step with him. It was great fun as he taught us some silly marching songs. He illustrated how to stutter step in order to come into step with the leader. As his legs were so much longer, we were always having to catch up and get back into step. Up until his illness whereby Jesus led my Father on the march home, he could still out-march all of his boys! He was such a strong man that inspired me to get into step.

Through repentance we come into step with Christ. It is the death to self that he taught, not just in Word, but in the agony of the garden. His death on cross was the ultimate expression of that selflessness.
Mt 4:17 From that time Jesus began to preach, and to say, Repent: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.
Mr 8:35 For whosoever will save his life shall lose it; but whosoever shall lose his life for my sake and the gospel’s, the same shall save it.
In this, He commands us to, “take up thy cross and follow me”.

There is a great difference between Religion and Faith in Christ. “Religion” is ever striving to control, whereas faith in Christ is that which frees us from those very controls through a relationship with our Creator by Jesus the Savour. Live close to Him and live free.
Ro 8:2 For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death.
