The concept of crucifying the flesh appears lost on the modern "Christian" and that is the demise of "Christianity".

Thankfully, there are those among us, disciples of the crucified risen Savior, living the crucified life to His honor and glory. They are true witnesses of Christ. Jesus suffered, served, believed, and gave for the joy that saving man produces.

Ministry is about connections.  An Isolationist cannot be a successful soul winner.  We are constantly looking to build connections and find points of contact.  On the Night of Lights, we handed out 198 lit balloons with the text “Das Licht dieser Welt”… ( The light of the World…)  and our church’s web address.  On the website, we created an online Tract called “Das Licht”.  This serves not only to spread the gospel, but also to help our young believers to break into sharing the gospel.

In Germany today, Christians are celebrating a day of Thanksgiving for the Harvest. We are so thankful today for our faithful group of believers who gathered to worship God and share in fellowship, lifting one another up and encouraging each other to remain faithful in the fields for the day of harvest is coming. A big thanks you goes out to our faithful supporting family who makes it possible for us to be here.

The Night of Lights went really well and the weather was great. We had fun passing out glowing balloons with the church web site on them and we had the opportunity to meet and chat with many people in town that we know. We so enjoy being able to see dear people that we haven't seen in a while.

We have been on furlough during the past eight weeks, visiting many of our supporting churches in Ohio, Iowa, and Indiana. We have been in a few new churches. It has been good to visit our faithful supporters and new churches as well, but now we are eager to get back home to Germany. We are sitting in the Newark airport awaiting our flight to Berlin.

The intellectually lazy, ignorant and/or arrogant find solace in the extreme.    Balance requires action, thought, humility and often sacrifice of self.

"Come now, and let us reason together, saith the LORD: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool."  Isa 1:18

Our culture is one of consumption, not sacrifice. Sadly, this cultural weakness demonstrates it's ugliness in the form of disloyalty to the local church whenever there is a newer, bigger or better thing somewhere else. Church "goers" often search for the next boost of spiritual self-indulgence with no intent of sacrificially serving God. This attitude creates a vacuum that sucks the spirituality out of the services replacing it with the criticism of wantonness.

We have finished up John and are now working through Romans, being " not ashamed" of the Gospel.

Missionaries, Paul and Doris Brock have arrived back in Germany!  We are so excited to have them back.  They will be filling in during our furlough from the middle of June to middle of August. Please pray for them as they adjust back to their ministries here in Germany.

While shepherding the flock to follow "the" one and only "good Shepherd", don't pet the wolves who teach contrary to the Gospel of Christ knowing that "whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved."
