Blessing others is our role as believers. Christ called the disciples to feed the thousands in order to teach them the principle of being good stewards of the untold riches of God’s grace. How can you be a good steward?
The steward is often unbiblically characterized as one who wisely withholds and saves. This is the antithesis of biblical stewardship. The evil steward was judged for this very action.

Following Christ is being, not doing.
1 Peter 1:15-16
“But as he which hath called you is holy, so be ye holy in all manner of conversation; Because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy.”
One can "do good" and still not be a follower of Christ. A true follower of Christ does good because of his being like Christ. The result is automatic.

We just finished the book of Hebrews and are starting James. Our people are excited about what they are learning. More exciting is that they are not just listening, but it is changing their everyday interactions with friends and family.
Hebrews stressed an enduring faith that withstands every down setting. Such faith is not dependent upon present results and miracles, rather on the promise of eternity. During this series my prayer was, “God grow me in faith”.

It is the simple things that we overlook which God chooses to use.
“And the Loʀᴅ said unto him, What is that in thine hand? And he said, A rod.” Ex. 4,2
This verse reminds us that God uses simple things to facilitate his will. The question is, are we available and faithful to allow God to use what is in our hand.
We are forever striving to be more effective; searching for the next open door or opportunity.
As a child watching Westerns, playing Cowboys and Indians, the art of knot tying was fascinating. Sitting down one afternoon, without instruction, the urge to learn how to tie a noose like the ones so often observed in the classic Westerns became overwhelming. Naturally, my parents were not so impressed with this newly acquired knowledge, but I was hooked. No pun intended.
Twice a year we build our Festival stand and it requires several different knots. Chelli has even bought books to feed my appetite for new knots.

I made this for my mother. It is made of 4 mm black para-cord, 2 mm blue para-cord and black beads. The knot are as 
follows from top to bottom: English Whipping knot to bind the necklace strand, an improvised Double Hangman's knot secured with two Overhand Stopper knots, a Six Pointed Star knot with improvisations and four Single Strand Diamond stopper knots to secure the beads.
The necklace is full of symbols. Blue is the royal and heavenly color. The star is comprised of two triangles illustrating the trinity of God and man converging in the one and only mediator of the two, Jesus Christ the Lord.

We all have talents. Some, are yet undiscovered. God, who gave us those talents, is the key to their discovery and use. Making ourselves available to His use is the first step. Why would He divulge hidden potential to those who would abuse and misuse it for selfish goals? It is interesting to note that the reason the “Steward” lost his talent was because he hoarded it. Those who were rewarded, were rewarded for their surrender to the master’s purpose for the talents given.

IF God were a man, HE would have created the whole of the universe in a process that would have lasted billions of years. HE would have told everyone how HE spoke it into existence in a matter of just six twenty-four hour days. He would have demanded that HIS WORD was to be believed as absolute truth. IF God were a man, HE would be astounded that no one believed HIM. HE would then change His story from 6 days to thousands of years, then millions and only when pressured admit the fact that it took billions; IF God were a man.

Continue to pray that God kills your "Holy Cows". By nature, we are too religious. The “traditions of men” often mask themselves as righteous without Biblical basis. Always question everything in the light of God’s Word. This can be painful at times, but it is always liberating. Remember, we have but one Lord to impress.
Mark 7:9 And he said unto them, Full well ye reject the commandment of God, that ye may keep your own tradition.

Matthew 6:33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.
We seem to apply such promises to important things and often overlook the little ways that God fulfils his promises.
Much has transpired since out last letter. We celebrated our oldest daughter, Samantha, becoming an adult in a coming of age ceremony to which her friends and teachers from school were invited. After preaching about the crowns awarded to believers, while stressing salvation, Chelli and I challenged Samantha to be the woman that God has designed her to be. These challenges were tailored to her gifts and personality. We presented her with a beautiful cloak and crown.
